Brainwash yourself

An estimated 95% of our thoughts are habitual.

This should stop you in your tracks. Because it means that we’re running on autopilot.

The question then is:

Who programmed the autopilot?

Short answer:

Your parents.
The culture you grew up in.
Your school teachers.
Your family and friends.
The ideas and information you’ve been repeatedly exposed to.
Your life experiences.
And your interpretation of your life experiences based on what all of the above determined as true or false.

You see what’s missing in the equation?

You.

We live frustrated, not getting what we want. No surprise there: we’re only getting the results the autopilot was built to give.

There’s only one logical conclusion:

It’s high time we brainwash ourselves, choosing consciously what to think and how to act based on who we want to become and the life we want to live.

Here’s a starting point:

Observe your thoughts.

Then ask yourself:

Are they yours?
Do you really agree?
Do they serve you?
What would be a better thought?

Awareness is always the first step.
